Mrs. Anna Bittner, 83, of 509 S. Leebrick street, died at St. Francis hospital, Tuesday at 4:15 pm after an extended illness.
She was born in Rohle, Austria, Dece, 31, 1863, the daughter of Frank and Magdalena Halama Skeva, and came to this country 62 years ago. She has been a resident of Burlington for the past 57 years.
June 1, 1885, she married Ernest Bittner in Burlington. He is dead. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic church of West Burlington.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. William Higgins, and a grandson, Robert Higgins, both of Burlington; and one brother, Frank Skeva of West Burlington.
Services will be held in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, West Burlington, Friday at 9 am. The cortege will leave the residence at 8:40 am. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The body will be taken to the residence from Prugh’s chapel Thursday morning. The rosary will be recited in the residence Thursday at 7:15 pm by the Daughters of Isabella, and at 8:15 pm by other friends.
