Dr. Lawrence Robert Leidig, 79, a native a Burlington, died in Santa Monica Hospital, Santa Monica, Calif., saturday, May 10. His home was at 107 Winnett Place, Santa Monica. Dr. Leidig was born July 31, 1895, the son of George and Minnie Fritzsche Leidig. A fighter pilot in World War I, he served in captain Edward Rickenbacker's squadron. He was a retired orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Leidig married Catherine Olive Fielder, who died Aug. 23, 1967. Surviving: Two brothers and a sister: Donald Leidig, Oroville, Calif.; Paul Leidig, Chicago; and Elsie Milton, Reseda, Calif., and distant relatives in California and Burlington. Funeral:Prugh's Chapel at 1:30 Friday; Aspen Grove Cemetery.
