The old depot was located across the street, and the bakery was visited by many immigrants and Civil war soldiers coming in by nearly every train.
Mrs. Bischoff attended Sunday school at Old Zion, the famous church-community house on the site of the present old opera house(Rialto theater) on N. Third Street, in which she later was married.
Mrs. Bischoff was a member of Zion Evangelical church, of the Ladies Aid Society, home department, and the missionary department.
Surviving are her husband; the one daughter, Mrs. William Frudeger of Burlington; two sons, Robert of San Marina, Cal., and Edward of Latty, Ia., a brother, Harry Kitzele, South Pasadena, Cal.; and four grandchildren. One sister and two brothers preceded her in death.
