Obituary
Albert Bischoff, 89, 1309 N. Sixth Street, died Saturday morning at Mercy Hospital after a long illness.
A native of Burlington, he was born Oct. 7, 1871, to George and Julia DeWein Bischoff. He was married to Augusta M. Scholl here Nov. 27, 1902. She died Dec. 12, 1957.
Bischoff for many years was a railway mail clerk, retiring in 1933. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Des Moines Lodge No. 1 AF&AM, and Royal Arch Masons, Lodge No. 1. He was Master of Des Moines Lodge in 1937 and 1938.
Surviving are two sons, Richard A. and Paul A. Bischoff, both of Burlington; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a sister, Julia Bischoff, Mendota, Ill.
Besides his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Wesley Burgus, five brothers and two sisters are dead.
Services will be at 3 pm Monday at Wallen’s chapel, the Rev. John J. Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
