Mr. Carl Henry Vollmer, 1112 S. Central Ave., was pronounced dead on arrival at Klein Memorial hospital at 2 p.m. Sunday. A life resident of Burlington, Mr. Vollmer was born Sept. 22, 1890, the son of Henry Gottlieb and Haman C. Ussenkamp Vollmer. He was a retired accountant and a veteran on World War I. Mr. Vollmer is survived by a brother and sister, Harry Vollmer and Mrs. Clara Vollmer Moehring, both of Burlington, and several nieces. Five brothers and two sisters died previously. Last rites will be held at the Prugh Chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Officiating will be the Rev. Earl Meissner, pastor of Bethany Lutheran church, of which Mr. Vollmer was a member. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery. The American Legion will perform the military ritual at the graveside.
