Louis Charles Ebert, 60, of 1116 Spring street, well known business man and prominent in Masonic circles, died at 1:29 a.m. Thursday in Burlington hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Burlington Dec. 16, 1887, the son of John J. and Louisa Ebert and was a member of the firm of Ebert & Sons. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran church and was active in Masonic work, having held the following offices: Past master Des Moines lodge No 1, past master of Zerubabbel council 20 Royal & Select Masters; past commander St. Omer commandery 15, Knights Templar. He was prelate of the commandery and a member of Murad Grotto. Surviving are a sister and 2 brothers, Elsie, George H., and Chris F. Ebert, all of Burlington. His parents, one brother and one sister are dead. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in Prugh's chapel. Dr. R.R. Belter will officiate. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
