Chris F. Ebert, 62, of 1116 Spring street, member of a pre Civil War Burlington family, died at 10 p.m. Thursday in Burlington hospital after a lingering illness. A veteran of World War I, he was a salesman and a member of the Ebert Supply company. Ebert was born Nov. 18, 1889, in his present home, a son of John and Louise Beck Ebert. With the exception of 3 years in Michigan, Chicago and Omaha, his entire life was spent in Burlington. Active in Masonic work until recently, he was a member of Des Moines lodge No. 1 AF&AM, Iowa Chapter no 1 Royal Arch Masons, Zerubbabel council No 22, St. Omer Commandery No 15, Murad Grotto of Burlington and Kaaba Shrine temple, Davenport. Ebert also was a member of Bethany Lutheran church. Surviving are a brother and sister, George and Elsie Ebert, both of Burlington, 2 nephews, Henry and William Ebert, and a grand niece, Joan Ebert. all of Burlington. Two brothers and a sister are dead. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Prugh's chapel with Rev. M.E. Lehmann officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
