Robert Eaton, 57, of Brazil, Ind., a furniture manufacturer and former Burlingtonian, died Sunday noon at his home. Eaton, employed by Chittenden & Eastman company, From April 1, 1914, until his resignation Feb. 17, 1943, was president of Eaton-O'Neill Manufacturing company, makers of furniture in Terre Haute, Ind.A first lieutenant in World war I, he went into service when an ammunition train was organized in Burlinigton. He later transferred to the infantry. The furniture manufacturer was born here April 5, 1893, the son of William Dwight and Elizabeth Ewers Eaton. He was educated in local schools and Pomfret school in Connecticut. Surviving are his widow, Pauline; 4 daughters, Martha, Mary, Jana and Paula Eaton;a son, Robert Eaton; and a brother, Henry Eaton, Granville, O. Services will be held in Brazil Tuesday afternoon and services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Prugh's chapel. Burial will be private in Aspen Grove cemetery.
