Obituary

Mrs. Amelia Birkholtz, 75, widow of Ferdinand A. Birkholtz, died Sunday morning at 6 o’clock at her home, 114 Ballard Street, West Burlington.
Amelia Schulze was born in Germany, January 27, 1853, and married July 6, 1881, to FA Birkholtz, who preceded her in death 33 years ago. The couple came to West Burlington from Germany in 1891. Mrs. Birkholtz was a member of the German ME Church of West Burlington.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Swan Bloom of Havelock, Nebraska, Barney Long, of Burlington and Esther Birkholtz, of Peoria; and Emile Birkholtz, of Peoria; and Emile Birkholtz, of New London, Neb., four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Three children and one brother also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at the residence, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock with burial in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The body will be taken home from Prugh’s chapel this evening.
