Arthur Roy Birkenstock, 82, of 2121 Vogt, died at his home Tuesday at 10:15.
He was born Oct. 2, 1882, in Burlington, the son of John Henry and Wilhelmina Strothman Birkenstock. On Sept. 23, 1908, he married Mamie Grupe in Burlington. Mr. Birkenstock was a crane operator in the West Burlington shops. He retired in 1954. He was of the Lutheran faith, a member of the Eagles and Railroad veterans.
Survivors: The wife; a daughter, Mrs. Henry Bowman, of Burlington; two grandsons; and a great-grandchild.
Services: Friday 11 am, Elliott-Lunning chapel, Rev. Earl Meissner; Aspen Grove Cemetery.
