Obituary
Mrs. Lydia Birdsall, an old resident of Burlington, died Tuesday morning at her residence on South Seventh Street, aged fifty-six years. She has lived alone for several years, being a widow, and her only children gone from her; a son, located in business in another state, and a daughter teaching in the public schools of Ottumwa. The daughter, Miss Harriet, was able to come in time to give the comfort of her presence and help to her mother in her last sickness, and the son, too, is expected for the funeral, which will occur in the First Baptist church at 10:00 am today. Mrs. Birdsall joined the Baptist church about thirty-five years ago, and through all the years since has been a faithful member and an exemplary discipline of her Lord. Having lived so long in our city she was well known and will be sincerely mourned by a host of friends.
