Charles Birck, 72, of 1207 South Starr Avenue, retired former superintendent of the streetcar lines in Burlington, died at St. Francis hospital shortly before noon today after a long illness.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Mr. Birck had been a resident of Burlington for half a century. He was married to Rose Kisler who preceded him in death.
Surviving is his daughter, Mrs. RJ Dietlein with whom he made his home here, two brothers, William, Burlington, and Peter of Cincinnati, and two grandchildren, Mary and Dorothy Dietlein, Burlington. A son Ellsworth, died last August.
The body was taken to the Burnett-Wallen funeral home. Services will be held from the Burnet-Wallen Funeral home Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock, Dr. JF Boeye officiating.
Interment in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
