Charles Raymond Caston, 72, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, at his home.

Charles was born to Ralph L. Caston Sr. and Jewell L. Fendley Caston in Lake Village, Arkansas, on Oct. 16, 1943. He grew up in Burlington, Iowa, where he graduated from high school in 1962 and attended Burlington Junior College.
He started work at Hy-Vee in Burlington at age 16 and worked at various Hy-Vee locations and positions including management during his grocery career. He also managed A & P grocery stores in Iowa and Missouri. He was presently employed at Mason City Hy-Vee West in the produce department. He had great respect for his Hy-Vee co-workers, neighbors and friends, and enjoyed their company.
Charles married Audrey Westercamp in Stockport, Iowa, on June 15, 1963. Charles loved to spend time with his immediate family, extended family, and friends. He liked the outdoors and had a passion for working on vehicles with his son. He also looked forward to puppy sitting his daughter's dachshund.
Charles will be greatly missed by his wife; children: Brian of Marion, Iowa, and Lisa of Center Point, Iowa; brother, Howard Lloyd (Velma) Caston, and sister, Mildred Smith of Burlington, Iowa, and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, three brothers-in-law, and nephew Randy.
As per Charles' wishes, his remains will be cremated and a memorial will be held at a later date in Burlington, Iowa.
