Obituary
Mrs. Amanda Barbara Binder, who lived on highway 61, ½ mile north of Burlington, died at her home Thursday at 10:45 pm. She had been in failing health for 6 years.
She was born in Des Moines county, the daughter of Charles and Anna Fritz Dankwardt. On Nov. 10, 1885, she married Charles Binder in Burlington. She was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, the Catholic Women’s League, and the Rosary Society.
Surviving are her husband, 3 daughters, Hattie, Amanda, and Clara, of Burlington; 3 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; 3 sisters, Mrs. Emma Herrill of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Lucinda Reid and Mrs. Flora Kuechen of Burlington; 2 brothers, Herman Dankwardt of Burlington and Walter Dankwardt of Woodlawn, Ill.; several nieces and nephews. Two sons, 3 brothers, and a sister are dead.
Services will be held in St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Monday morning at 9:00. The cortege will leave Prugh’s Chapel at 8:45. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The rosary will be recited in Prugh’s Chapel, Sunday evening at 7:30.
