Fred George Bierman, 65, 412 S. Fifth street, died Sunday at St. Francis hospital after a long illness
Bierman was born in Burlington,m Feb. 22, 1885, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bierman. He worked for many years as a boilermaker at the West Burlington railroad shops. He retired recently.
A member of First Methodist church and the Railway Veterans, he married Louise McIntire Oct. 9, 1947, in Burlington.
He is survived by his wife, and a son by a former marriage, Jack, Burlington and 3 grandchildren: Jack, Patricia and Jacqueline Bierman, and a brother, Elmer, and a sister, Mrs. G.E. Schweeis, both of Burlington.
Services will be held in Prugh’s chapel Wednesday at 2 pm Rev. Deane Chapman will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
