Obituary
Fred A. Bierman,75, Retired Locomotive Fireman, a native and lifelong resident of Burlington, died at his home, 617 Pine Street at 11:30 the morning after an extended illness. He had been in failing health for two years but became much worse yesterday.
Mr. Bierman was born in Burlington, November 4, 1857, and married to Sena Johnson, who survives him. He was employed by the railroad for 40 years, retiring on pension 8 years ago. He was a member of the First Evangelical church, the B. of L. F. and E., the Veterans Association of the Burlington railroad, and the court of honor.
Besides his widow, he is survived by two sons, Fred G. Bierman and Elmer O. Bierman;a daughter, Mrs. Ed Schweers and two grandsons, Jack T. Bierman and William Schweers, all of Burlington; a brother August Bierman of St. Louis, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Gross of Quincy and Mrs. Katherine Talley of Galesburg. A sister preceded him in death and a daughter died in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at the residence Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock in charge of Rev. J.H. Buescher, with burial in Aspen Grove cemetery. The body is at the residence.
