Mr. Elmer Oltman Bierman, 78, of 1230 Virginia, died at Burlington hospital Saturday at 7:30 am where he had been a patient one week.
He was born March 15, 1887, in Burlington the son of Fred and Sena Johnson Bierman. On June 23, 1925, in Burlington, he married Alma Bauer.
He was a clerk for the Burlington Railroad, retiring on Jan. 1, 1955. An army veteran of WWI, he was a member of the DAV. He was also a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Surviving are: his wife; one sister, Mrs. G.E. Schweers, 1016 S. Seventh; several nephews and cousins. One brother and one sister died earlier.
Services will be 2:30 pm Monday at Elliott-Lunning Chapel. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
