Obituary
Fred Bickenbach, 509 Summer Street, well-known resident of Burlington for many years, died early this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jacob DePree of Hollan, Mich., where he was visiting. Mr. Bickenbach was 76 years old.
He had not been in good health for about two years, but it was but a short time ago that his condition became critical. Mr. Bickenbach was a native of Germany but was an early resident of this city, where he leaves many friends who will sincerely mourn his passing. He was married in Burlington to Maria Jane Glick and the couple recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
Mr. Bickenbach for many years was employed as a foreman at the S.R. & I.C. McConnell company, until a year ago last March, when ill health forced his retirement. Previous to that time he was with the JS Schott Harness company. He was a member of the I.O.O.F.
Besides the widow there survive two daughters, Mrs. Alice Reynolds of Burlington, and Mrs. Jacob DePree of Holland, Misch.; one son, Leo, or Tacoma, Wash., and four grandchildren. The body will be brought to Burlington Wednesday afternoon. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
Funeral services for Fred Bickenbach will be held at his home in Burlington Saturday afternoon at 2:30. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
