George S. Beuckman, 83, of 164 Golf Lane, died at 9 am Sunday, May 8, 1988, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born Jan. 3, 1905, in Burlington he was the son of George O. and Ebba Sheagren Beuckman. He married Suzanne Heil on July 9, 1932, in Burlington.
He was president and general manager of Heil Ice and Cold Storage Co. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, the Crystal Lake Club, the Burlington Golf Club, and the “I” Club.
He was past director of National Bank, Iowa Southern Utilities Co., Burlington Medical Center, and the Aspen Grove Cemetery Association. He was past president of the Burlington/West Burlington Chamber of Commerce and was a director of the Burlington Community Chest. He attended the University of Arkansas.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Louise(Whit) Niehaus, Burlington, and Mrs. Anne Heil(Harry) Crowl, Council Bluffs; and five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
There will be no visitation. The service for Mr. Beuckman will be at 10 am. Wednesday at Christ Episcopal Church with the Rev. Phillip Snyder officiating. The body will be cremated. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date.
A memorial has been established for Christ Episcopal Church.
