Leonard George Bettinger, of 2210 Mt. Pleasant Street, died at St. Francis hospital Saturdayat 11:30 am after a 6-week illness.
He was born in New York State on July 17, 1865, and had lived in Burlington 50 years where he was a carpenter until 4 years ago when he retired. He was married to Ida Sourwine at Lincoln, Neb., 36 years ago.
Surviving are his wife; one sone Clifford of Monmouth, Ill.; daughter Mrs. Fern Champagne, Burlington; and a sister Mrs. Mayme Pennington, West Burlington.
The body was taken to Burnett-Wallen funeral home where plans for the last rites are pending word from relatives in the east.
Services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday at Burnett-Wallen funeral home with Rev. WH Lewis officiating. Burial
