Obituary
George W. Bettinger passed away at his home, No. 222 Swan Street, West Burlington, at 7:30 yesterday morning. He was born in the state of New York, January 12, 1841, and located at Kossuth, Iowa, in 1877. He came to Burlington in 1893 and moved to West Burlington three years ago. He made many friends here who will hold him in kindly remembrance.
Mr. Bettinger was a veteran of the Civil war, having given his country faithful service as a member of Co. C., of the 122nd regiment of New York volunteers.
Mrs. Bettinger passed away, August 14, 1908, and deceased is survived by three children; Leonard G. of Burlington; Miss Etta Bettinger, and Mrs. John Pennington, of West Burlington. A daughter, Lily May died in infancy.
The funeral will be held from the residence in West Burlington, at 2 p.m. Thursday, with interment in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Friends are invited to these services.
