Obituary
Mrs. G. May Bershee, 77, died at her home, 1809 S. 15th, Sunday morning following a short illness.
She was born in Kingston May 31, 1868, and resided in Burlington most of her life. She was first married to GW Simons, who died in 1917, and on May 29, 1938, she was married to OR Bershee, who survives. She was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church, Rebekah Lodge, and the Hawk-Eye Natives society.
Also surviving are 2 sons, HG Simons, Hollywood, Calif.; and RK Simons, Burlington; 2 daughters, Mrs. Harold VanNattan, Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. William Tiemeier, Jr., Burlington; 5 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Mike Saiko, Rhodes, Mich.; 2 stepsons, Dan Bershee, Monterey Park, Calif., and Charles Bershee, Des Moines; and 2 stepdaughters, Mrs. Naoli Ferrel, Clinton, and Mrs. Irma Hines, Burlington.
Services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday at Burnett-Wallen funeral home with Rev. JS Jones officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
