Mr. Bershee, resident of Burlington for 70 years, died of complications resulting from his advanced years, relatives said. He made his home with a niece, Mrs. Louis Strack, 1426 Madison Avenue.
He was born in Williamsburg, Long Island, on Jan 2, 1842, and early in life was a printer on New York newspapers. On his final release from the Army, he was a corporal in Company H, 17th regulars, New York.
Soon after the war, Mr. Bershee came to Burlington, to make his home with his brother, Charles. He has lived here ever since. Besides Mrs. Strack, Mr. Bershee is survived by the following nieces and nephews; Emma, Sadie, Charles, George, and Olivier Bershee.
