Obituary
Mrs. Emmeline Bershee, beloved wife of Charles Bershee, passed away at her home, No. 225 South Eighth street yesterday morning. Her death will be mourned by all who knew the good woman. Ms. Bershee was born in New York state March 7, 1835, and came to Burlington in 1856. She was known as a good neighbor, as a helping hand. Mrs. Bershee was a faithful member of the Congregational church. She is survived by the husband, Charles Bershee, three sons, Charles B., George W., and Oliver C Bershee; three daughters, Mrs. Ida Strack, and the Misses Emma A. and Sadie E. Bershee, and four grandchildren, all of Burlington.
The funeral will be held from the family home on Saturday afternoon at 4 o’clock. Friends are invited to these services. Interment will be made in Aspen Grove. Friends are invited to the services at the home, the interment will be private. Mrs. Bershee was one of the old settlers and had a host of friends, many of whom will pay her the last honors and all of whom will hold her in kindly remembrance.
