Obituary

Charles Benjamin Bershee, 82, bricklayer and contractor, died today at his home, 225 S. Eighth Street, after an acute illness of one day.
A native of Burlington, Bershee was born March 15, 1860. He attended city schools, graduating from Burlington High school in 1875. He learned the bricklaying trade under his father and conducted an extensive contracting business. He was a member of the Congregational church and formerly belonged to the Elks lodge.
Surviving are two sisters and two brothers, Emma A., Sadie E., George W., and Oliver R., all of Burlington, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Bershee will be held at 2 pm Wednesday at the Burnett-Wallen funeral home. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
