Obituary
The funeral of William S. Berry was held from the family home, No. 111 Grand Street, at 2:00 yesterday afternoon. Many friends paid the last honors to the good citizen, who had so long been a prominent figure in the business life of the city. They recalled to mind his activities in the industrial and commercial life of Burlington and above all, his high standard of character and those estimable qualities of mind and heart that made him respected and esteemed by all who knew him.
In the obituary, the fact was overlooked that Mr. Berry was a member of the firm of Parsons, Berry & Warren, who conducted a large tin and stove store in the building now occupied by the CG Bosch Plumbing Co., or the one adjoining on North Main street.
Mr. Berry also served six years on the school board and helped build the High school building on Central Avenue. In every respect, he was a useful citizen and contributed largely to the earlier growth of Burlington.
