Obituary
Mrs. Hazel Laura Berquist, 80, a native of Burlington, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, at Immanuel Lutheran Medical center, Omaha, Neb. She was a retired librarian, having worked at Burlington high school and the public library here.
Born Dec. 11, 1896, she was the daughter of Charles and Mary Leis Wilkins. She married Clifford Berquist here on Nov. 26, 1923; he died earlier.
She had been employed at SD Blanke Insurance Co. and DesMoines county recorders office. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the National Retired Teachers Assn.
Surviving: Sister, Mrs. Ethel M. Hilleary, Los Angeles, Calif.; and a nephew and niece.
Funeral: 1:30 pm Saturday, Prugh’s chapel, Rev. GA Saathoff; Aspen Grove Cemetery.
