Obituary
The body of Edward L. Bernard, son of the late Cornelius Bernard and Martha White Bernard and former resident of Burlington, who passed away at his home in Corpus Christi, Texas, Wednesday afternoon, will arrive in Burlington Sunday morning. Funeral services will be held from the residence of Mr. and Mrs. John Mercer, 918 North Eighth Street, Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock with burial in Aspen Grove. Rev. Naboth Osborne will officiate.
Mr. Bernard was born in Burlington, May 2, 1866, and resided here until 16 years ago when he moved to San Benito, Texas. He lived there a short time then moved to Corpus Christi where he had since been engaged in a manufacturing enterprise.
Besides his widow, Belle Montfort Bernard, he is survived by one daughter, Louise Bernard, and two sons, Merrill and Donald Bernard. One sister, Mrs. John Mercer, of Burlington, also survives.
His widow and children will accompany the remains to Burlington for burial.
