Mamie H. Birkenstock, 98, of RR1, Oakville, died at 4:50 pm Thursday, Nov. 5, 1987, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born Dec. 22, 1888, in Burlington, she was the daughter of George and Bertha Hellenthall Grupe. She married Arthur R. Birkenstock Sept. 22, 1908, in Burlington. He died March 1, 1966.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Church of Christ.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Virginia (Henry) Bowman, Route 1 Oakville; two grandsons; two great-grandsons; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm Sunday at Lunning Chapel.
The service for Mrs. Birkenstock will be 10:30 am Monday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Gene Kraus officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
