Laura A. Berges, 92, of 505 Hedge Ave., died at 7:45 pm Sunday, Jan. 28, 1990, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Manhattan, Kan.
Born May 8, 1897, in Burlington, she was the daughter of August and Dorothea Behne Janssen. She married Paul T. Berges on June 4, 1929, in Burlington. He died June Oct. 7, 1968.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the First United Church of Christ and its church circle and was the church organist.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Meloan of Manhattan, Kan..; one sister, Verna Stenberg of Rockford, Ill.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 Wednesday at Prugh’s Chapel. The service for Mrs. Berges will be at 3:30 ppm Thursday at the First United Church of Christ will the Rev. Bryan Crousore officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove.
A memorial has been established for the First United Church of Christ.
