Obituary
Mrs. Catherine Berges, widow of Henry Berges, of this city, passed away at the Mercy hospital, Davenport, at 11:45 Wednesday morning. The funeral will be held in Burlington, Sunday afternoon, with services at the First German Evangelical church, the Rev. Mr. Karl Michels officiating. Interment will be made in Aspen Grove. Friends are invited to these services.
Catherine Becker was born in Burlington, March 12, 1859, and grew up and was educated here, and because the wife of Henry Berges, who passed away November 3, 1914. The following year she went to Davenport to make her home. She had been in feeble health for some time. She is survived by three sons; Fred of Arizona, and Arthur and Theophilus of Davenport, and other relatives. She was a faithful member of the First German Evangelical church and the Ladies Aid society of that congregation and had a host of friends in the Orchard City, who will hold her in kindly remembrance.
