Mrs. Emily M. Berges, 84, of 1816 Orchard, died at 8:45 am Saturday, Oct. 5, in Memorial hospital following an extended illness.
She was born Sept. 24, 1890, in Burlington, the daughter of Henry and Theresa Foecke Kampmeier. In April 1913, in Burlington she married Edward Berges; he died in August 1930.
Mrs. Berges was a retired seamstress and had worked for Eklund’s She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and its Adah Dorcas Circle.
Surviving; One son, Paul, Preston, Minn.; three daughters, Mrs. CA Mann, Glendale, Calif., Shirley Berges, Cleveland, Ohio, Marie Berges, Burlington; one brother, George Kampmeier, Rockford, Ill.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in Zion United Church of Christ Tuesday afternoon at 3:30. Rev. Mr. David Michael will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Prugh’s Monday evening from 7:30 until 9:00.
