Mrs. Anna Batrim, 77, native of Germany and resident of Burlington for 44 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carl Dierks, 1011 South Fourth Street, at 5:30Sunday afternoon after a prolonged illness.
Anna Kalblinger was born in Bavaria, Germany, on September 1, 1851, coming to America when she was one year old. She was married in 1873, to Conrad Bentrim, the couple coming to Burlington in 1884. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was a faithful attendant until overtaken by illness.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Maude Zulauf, Ottumwa; Mrs. Mollie Hood, Tygh Valley, Ore., and Mrs. Clara Diercks, Burlington; five sons, Harvey E. Bentrim of Burlington; Joe Bentrim, Southgate, Calif.; Frank Bentrim, Rock Island, and Andrew Bentrim, Fort Madison, and Harry E. Bentrim of Clyde, O., a sister in Palmyra, Mo., a brother in Crookston, Neb.; twenty grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her husband died in 1923.
The body was taken to Prugh’s chapel.
Mrs. Anna Bentrim died Sunday, May 19, at 5:30 pm in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carl Diercks. Funeral services will be held from the Diercks residence, 1011 South Fourth Street, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30. Friends are invited. Interment in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The body will be taken to the home from Prugh’s chapel Tuesday morning.
