Andrew F. Bentrim, 60, life resident of Burlington, was found dead in bed early Sunday morning at the home of a brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Dierks, 1011 S. Fourth street, with whom he resided, Sunday morning.
According to Diercks, who discovered the body, Bentrim had retired in his usual health and had been up and about the home at 3 am when Mrs. Diercks left for New York City to visit her son, Roger, in service there.
Born July 5, 1883, Bentrim was for many years an employee of the West Burlington shops and recently had been working at the Northwestern Cabinet company. His wife preceded him in death several years ago.
Bentrim was affiliated with the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Survivors are 3 sisters, Mrs. Clara B. Diercks, Burlington; Mrs. Maude Zuhhauf, Ottumwa and Mrs. Mollie E. Hood, Tyghvalley, Ore.; 4 brothers, Joseph, Linwood, Cal.; Frank, Rock Island, Ill.; Harvey, Burlington; and Harry E., Clyde, O. There is also a stepson, Dennis Morrison, of Fort Madison.
The body is at Giles Funeral home awaiting the arrival of Mrs. Diercks when plans for services will be completed.
Funeral services for MR. Andrew F. Bentrim, 60 years of age, will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 at the Giles Funeral Home. Interment will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
