Mrs. Celia Benson, 90 years old, died Wednesday night at her home, 1226 South Tenth Street, after two months of illness. She has lived in Burlington for 24 years.
Mrs. Benson was born in Silverberg, Sweden, on September 29, 1837, and came to the United States when a young woman. She was married Sept. 29, 1872, to Olivier Benson and they lived in Monmouth, Ill., for a number of years. In 1903 they came to Burlington, where her husband died eight years ago. She attended the First Christian Church here.
Surviving are five children, Mrs. MH Sutcliff, Miss Lena Lander, William Lander by a former marriage, and Harry Benson and Mrs. AJ McCannon, all residing in or near Burlington.
Funeral services will be conducted from the residence, Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock, with Rev. MH Williams, pastor of First Christian church, officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
