Mrs. Virginia Bennett, 84, a former resident of Davenport, Ia., died at 3:45 am today in St. Francis hospital where she has been a patient since Nov. 5, 1936.
Her husband, a former soldier, preceded her in death.
Surviving is a niece, Mrs. Ray Kelley, Denver, Col., former resident of Burlington.
The body was removed to Prugh’s chapel, and funeral arrangements will be announced later.
Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Bennett, 86, resident of Burlington for the past five years, will be held in Prugh’s chapel at 10 am Wednesday. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery. Mrs. Bennett formerly lived at LeClaire, Ia. She was born in Arkansas on March 7, 1855, and was united in marriage July 27, 1885, to George F. Bennett in Clinton, Ia., he proceeding her in death Sept. 9, 1931. Bennett was a Civil war veteran, having served three years with the Illinois volunteers.
Mrs. Bennett was of the Presbyterian faith.
