Obituary
An illness of less than an hour’s duration due to organic heart trouble caused the death of Mrs. Louise E. Benner this morning. Death occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Wahl, 609 Pine street, at 5:45 am. Mrs. Benner was taken suddenly ill shortly after 5 o’clock.
Louise E. Buhrmaster was born in Germany, September 6, 1837, attaining the age of 82 at the time of her demise. She came to Iowa with her parents at the age of 6 years and spent practically her entire life in Burlington, Iowa. She has lived in Muscatine for the past seven years. In 1860 she was united in marriage with Phillip Benner, to which union six children were born, three preceding her in death. Her husband passed away in October 1898.
Mrs. Benner united with the German Methodist church when a young girl and has been an active worker in that church practically her entire life.
She is survived by three children, HA Benner of Burlington; TG Benner of Keokuk, and Mrs. Lulu N Wahl of Muscatine. One brother, Fred Buhrmaster, and the following sisters: Mrs. Mary Mikkelson of Beaverton, Ore.; Mrs. Sarah Boesch, Mrs. Tillie Randorff, and Mrs. Hannah Pauley of Burlington; thirty grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren also survive.
Short services will be conducted and interment made in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington.
