Obituary

Henry Fredrick Benne, 222 Leffler Street, West Burlington died in his residence at 8:10 pm Thursday, after an extended illness.
He was born in Burlington on Dec. 15, 1875, the son of Edward and Hannah Benne, and had resided here for the past 44 years. October 20, 1898, in West Burlington, he was united in marriage with Clara Schuff.
Benne was a carpenter contractor, a partner in the firm of Pearson and Benne. He was a member of the St. Paul’s Evangelical and Reformed Church of West Burlington, the Knights of Pythias lodge, and the Railroad Veterans association.
Surviving are his widow; his (step)mother, Mrs. Christina Benne, Burlington; 3 children, Mrs. WA Mundinger, Helen Benne, and Lester Benne, all of West Burlington; 2 brothers, Edward H. Benne, Nauvoo, and Otto Benne, California; one sister, Mrs. Clara Benne, Burlington, and 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 children.
Funeral services will be held in St. Paul’s Evangelical and Reformed church at 2:30 pm Sunday. The cortege will leave the residence at 2:15. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The body will be removed to the residence from Prugh’s chapel, Saturday afternoon.
