Mrs. Jessie Belle Benkert, 83, of 2012 Osborn, died at 10:30 am Wednesday, April 28, in Burlington Care Center.
Born May 17, 1892, in Nebraska City, Neb., she was the daughter of Albert and Lulu Pence Owen. She married Walter Bankert on Jan. 3, 1910, in Burlington; he died in March 1943. She was a member of West Hill United Methodist Church and Quilters of First United Methodist Church.
Surviving; Daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Murray, MarVista, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Wesley Benkert, Burlington, with whom she made her home; one grandchild, Sherry Lynn Benkert.
Funeral: 1 pm Friday, Lunning Chapel, Rev. LeRoy Moor; Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the West Hill United Methodist Church and the Quilters of First United Methodist Church.
