George C. Bauman, 77, of 812 Court Street died at Burlington hospital at about 4:30 Sunday afternoon. Mr. Bauman, a retired photographer, was born in Aurora, Ill., on April 27, 1859, but had resided in Burlington since 1897. His wife, the former Lavina Miberger, died May 22, 1933.
He was a member of First Methodist Church. Surviving him besides his daughter, Mrs. Lulu Sheagren, granddaughter, Linnea Sheagren, both of Burlington, another daughter, Mrs. Florence Giampolini, San Francisco, Calif.; one brother, Fred C. Bauman, Crawford, Neb., and a sister, Mrs. FR VanValer, Tacoma, Wash.
His death followed an illness of more than two months, His daughter Mrs. Giampolini, called to his bedside from San Francisco, had been in Burlington two months.
The funeral will be shared with his son-in-law, Ferdinand C Sheagren who preceded him in death by mere hours.
The double funeral services will be held at First Methodist church at 2 pm Tuesday and conducted by Dr. WT Smith, pastor of this church.
The bodies will remain at the Burnett-Wallen funeral home until 1:45, and the caskets will not be opened after the service. The funeral starts at 2 o’clock. A short, single commitment service will be held at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
