Bennie Bell, 81, 1021 Brooks, died at 4:40 pm Monday in Burlington hospital where he had been a patient for 23 days. He had been in failing health for several years.
He was born July 14, 1886, in Missouri. His wife, Lilly Smith Bell, died in 1952.
Mr. Bell was a retired general laborer.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews, including Howard Nelson, Burlington, with whom he made his home, Clifford and Robert Gipson, Burlington, and Norma Ashby, Ft. Madison.
Funeral services for Mr. Bennie Bell, who passed away January 22, 1968, will be held in Prugh’s Chapel, Thursday afternoon at 2:00. Rev. Mr. R.F. Williams will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Prugh’s Wednesday evening from 7:30 until 9:00.
