Obituary
Mrs. Sophia Behne, a resident of Burlington 63 years, died at her home, 2002 Vogt Street, at 10:30 pm Saturday after an illness of six months.
She was born in Oldenberg, Germany, on June 8, 1861, and was united in marriage at Burlington in 1884 with Henry J. Behne, who died June 10, 1938. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1934.
Mrs. Behne was a member of the First Evangelical church and the Ladies’ Aid of the church.
Surviving are four sons, John of Fairfield; Albert of Fremont, Ohio; George of Clyde, Ohio, and Walter of Burlington; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Two children, six brothers, and five sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday at the Burnett-Wallen funeral home. Rev. JH Buescher will officiate. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
