Obituary
Minnie Brookhiser Behne, 82, a native of Germany but a resident of Burlington for the last 75 years, died at 8:15 pm Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Hartman, 221 Harrison Avenue, following a lingering illness.
She was born in Sessen, Germany, on Aug. 4, 1857. She came to the United States and directly to Burlington in 1864, She was married in 1875 to William Behne.
Surviving are the daughter on Harrison avenue; two sons, William, 1428 S. Starr Avenue, and John Behne, Cheyenne, Wyo.; two brothers, William Brookhiser of Burlington, and AP Brookhiser of Gladstone, Ill.: three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Unterkircher’s funeral home at 2:00 this afternoon conducted by the Rev. WA Samp, pastor of Harrison Ave. Methodist Church. Burial was in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
