Janet May Walker, 60, of Burlington, died at 7:12 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 2004, at Park View Care Center. Born October 7, 1943, in Oskaloosa, she was the daughter of Willard E. and Mildred M. McCreery Martin. On June 2, 1967, she married Robert Dean Walker in Oskaloosa. Mrs. Walker was a physical education teacher. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Burlington. She loved crafts, collecting eagles, crossword puzzles, shopping and gardening, both vegetables and flowers. Survivors include her husband; two sons, John Walker and Jaron Walker, both of Burlington; three daughters, Jennifer Walker, Janelle Wells and Joleen Rhodes, all of Burlington; nine grandchildren; her parents of Oskaloosa; one brother, Charlie Martin of Oskaloosa. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Prugh's Chapel. According to her wishes, the body has been cremated. The memorial service for Mrs. Walker will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Forrest Krummel officiating. A memorial has been established for Fort Madison Community Hospital Hospice.
