George C. Bied, 80, of 1103 South, died at 10 am Wednesday, Sept. 13, at St. Francis Hospital.
He was born June 24, 1892, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Fred and Pauline Bied. He married Lynda Danielson in Burlington on Feb. 5, 1917.
Mr. Bied was a pharmacist and operated Bied Drug Store at South and Summer from 1922 to 1946.
He was a member of the Lutheran Faith church, Masonic Des Moines Lodge No. 1, AF & AM, and the United Commercial Travelers.
Surviving; The wife; one son, Dan, at home; one daughter, Mrs. RL (Bette) Scott, Sarasota, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Freda Ahring, Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. George C. Bied, will be held in Prugh’s Chapel, Saturday afternoon at 2:00. Rev. Mr. John Vickers will officiate. Interment will by in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
