Mrs. Margaret Beckman, wife of the late Charles H. Beckman, of Burlington, died at Burlington hospital at 4:20 am Tuesday, following a lingering illness. She was 89 years old.
Born Dec. 13, 1855, in Franklin township, Des Moines County, she was the daughter of John and Mary Ries Feldman. On Oct. 14, 1880, she was united in marriage to Charles H. Beckman, who died in 1938. In 1912, she and her husband moved from their farm to Burlington. Confirmed in the Lutheran faith, for the past 30 years she has been a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and attended regularly as long as her health permitted.
Surviving are 3 sons, Otto E. Beckm, and, Sperry; Joe C. Beckman and Martin W. Beckman, of Burlington; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: Henry Feldman, Burlington; Mrs. Mary Beckman, Mediapolis; Mrs. Anna Hankins, Mrs. Tillie Korf, and Louise Feldman, all of Winfield; Mrs. Slias Korf, Washington. Two brothers and one sister are dead.
Services will be held in Prugh’s chapel Thursday at 3:30 pm Rev. RR Belter will officiate. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
