Joseph Beckman, 84, Ottumwa, a native of Des Moines County, died in the Ottumwa hospital following a brief illness.
He was born May 21, 1883, in Des Moines County, the son of Charles H. and Margaret Feldman Beckman. Mar. 30, 1939, at Lancaster, Mo., he married Etta Anderson.
Mr. Beckman, a retired farmer, was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church, Burlington, and the Masonic Lodge of Mt. Pleasant.
Surviving; the wife; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Peterson, Gary, Ind., Mrs. Lucille Carnhan, Joliet, Ill.
