Obituary

Services will be held from Prugh’s chapel Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock for Charles H. Beckman, 81, who died yesterday afternoon at St. Francis hospital.
The son of John E. and Mary Granaman Beckman, Mr. Beckman was born in Franklin township on April 6, 1857. On Oct. 14, 1880, he was married to Margaret Feldman who survives.
To this union were born three sons, Otto E. of Sperry, Joe C. of Mt Pleasant, and Martin of Burlington. Also surviving are the following sisters and brothers: Ed A. of Mediapolis, William G. and Mrs. Henry Feldman of Burlington, Mrs. CE Dodds of West Burlington and Fred of Sperry; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Beckman was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on April 2, 1871, and was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church of this city. He lived on a farm near Dodgeville until 1912 when he moved here, residing ever since at 2050 Osborn Street.
The Rev. RR Belter, pastor of Bethany Church, will conduct the funeral services and interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The body will be removed to the residence at 8:30 Thursday morning and returned to Prugh’s chapel at 11 am.
