Mrs. Alma Charlotte Beckman, 76, of 2004 Gnahn, died at Burlington hospital Sunday. She was admitted to the hospital 16 days ago.
Mrs. Beckman was born in Des Moines county, March 1, 1886, the daughter of Peter and Lena Schroeder Hendrickson, and was married to Martin h. Beckman in the Hendrickson home on April 24, 1907.
She was a member of the First Methodist Church and had been an active worker in church organizations while her health permitted. Before her marriage, she had taught in the rural school system of Des Moines county.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mildred B. Taylor of Farmington, N. Mex.; and Ruth B. Smith of Burbank, Calif.; three grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews and cousins.
Services will be in Prugh’s Chapel, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, the Dr. G. Dempster Yinger officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove.
