Herman Wesley Beck, 84, a former Burlington resident, died Friday, May 25, in Weslaco, Tex. He was born Sept. 30, 1888, in Danville, the son of George and Louisa Jarvis Beck.
He married Grace Johnson on Jan. 29, 1913, in West Burlington, she survives. Beck, who worked in farming, banking, and insurance, was a member of Patriot Lodge 650, AF&AM; Commandery Council and Chapter, OES 545; Kaaba Shrine of Davenport, Masonic Consistory of San Antonio, Tex., and was Grand Patron of OES of Iowa, and head of other Masonic organizations.
Funeral: 11 am Tuesday, Lunning chapel, Rev. Roscoe Wolvington; Aspen Grove Cemetery. Eastern Star services will be held at 7 pm Monday, and Masonic rites will be given at graveside.
